Where Good Ideas Come From, The Seven Patterns of Innovation by Steven Johnson (2012) is a stimulating read and as the title suggests attempts to describe how ideas for innovation come about.  This is not a stuffy academic book full of jargon and obscure references, but rather a well researched and though provoking insight based on a historic perspective of innovation and idea generation.

This book has many examples of innovation throughout history and rather than being a ‘how to’ book, its actually gives the reader an understanding of the creation of an environment where innovation ‘could‘ be more likely to prosper.  This is a book based on sound academic principles, presented in a less formal easy to read format.  Well worth reading…
